To give you an idea of how members are receiving the recovery meetings database, InTheRooms.com Member, ScottWDavenport said: “It’s great to know that the people at InTheRooms.com are working on a database that’ll not only benefit ITR members, but anyone in recovery whether they’ve heard of ITR or not – whether they want to become part of ITR or not.”
Be sure to visit the database and try out its functions. They are truly one of a kind. Mainly, anyone can update meetings date, times and locations with up to the second information. Additionally, new meetings can also be added.
Tonight, (Friday, May 29) one of IntheRooms Co-founders will be a guest on Khloe Kardashian’s new late night radio show, “Khloe After Dark.” Because of their knowledge and expertise in addiction recovery, the ITR Co-founder was invited to co-guest along side music producer, Scott Storch, who recently began his recovery process. To listen to the program, it can be heard live tonight (11pm) on Miami’s Y100 radio station or streamed from the station’s website.
For those unfamiliar with Khloe Kardashian, she’s a Reality TV show star from the hit series, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Her radio talk show is geared towards covering the music and entertainment news. For those unfamiliar with Scott Storch, he’s originally Canadian but bases his music productions out of Miami were he now resides. Some of hits include: “Side Effects” by Mariah Carey; “Naughty Girl” and “Baby Boy” by Beyoncé; and “Candy Shop” by 50 Cent.
Greetings ITR members. For those who may have not heard yet, IntheRooms has officially announced its “South Florida Rally for Recovery” walk, which will take place on September 12, 2009. The date was specifically chosen, as September marks National Alcohol and Recovery month. The “South Florida Rally for Recovery” is set to take place at Bicentennial Park in Downtown Miami, FL.
The tentative itinerary for the day is as follows:
1) The Walk - Show your support for recovery and stand up for what you believe in! Be an advocate and walk with us to show what recovery is, that today we are healthy and productive members of society!
2) The Festival - All day in Bicentennial Park, we will have wonderful food, great speakers, recovery music, exhibits, special guests and surprises.
3) The Concert - At the end of the day, we will be having Richie Supa perform his PRISM Award winning song, In The Rooms; in addition we are also having a special surprise guest, so stay tuned!

For those who are unaware, interventionist Ken Seeley of A & E’s hit show “Intervention” is In The Rooms and has a profile where any member can contact him. Some may think of Ken Seeley merely as the interventionist persona from the TV show, but in fact, Ken is a dedicated member of the recovery community who has spent more than two decades of his time and efforts aiding those suffering from the disease of addiction.
Perhaps what makes Ken such a brilliant interventionist is that he knows first hand the struggles of addiction. Ken himself has20 years experience of being clean and sober from his addiction now. He continues to be a beacon for the recovery community, not only as an example that successful recovery is possible, but also as a continuous voice and presence for addiction recovery.
Aside from this, Ken is also the founder and executive director of Intervention911, one of the most prominent intervention services in the nation. His membership to InTheRooms.com is another way we are trying to bring the best from the world of recovery to you online.
To read Ken Seeley’s personal and compelling piece, “My Crisis in Recovery”, or to friend Ken Seeley as a fellow member of In the Rooms, check out his profile at: intherooms.com/kenseeley.

On Wednesday, April 23rd, the 13th Annual Prism Awards took place in Beverly Hills, CA. For those unfamiliar with the Prism Awards, they are the equivalency of the Oscars and the Grammys but for outstanding achievement in the “accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health issues, in film, television, interactive, comic book, music, and DVD entertainment,” according to the awards’ website.
One of this year’s highlights was Richie Supa’s performance of the “In the Rooms” song. Both Richie Supa and the “In the Rooms” song were nominated for a Prism Award in the category of “Music Recording.” When the envelope was opened and the winner announced, the crowd cheered as Richie Supa’s name, along with the “In the Rooms” song, were announced. In actuality, both Richie and Selfish Steam received Prism Awards in what was considered a tie for the category. Both founders of In the Rooms, Kenny and RT, were on hand to show their support for Richie.

Richie Supa is a world-renowned rock star that has been recording music and performing across the US and the globe for over thirty years. His most recognized work was as lead guitarist for Aerosmith and his compilations along side Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. Richie wrote and recorded “In the Rooms” earlier this year especially for InTheRooms.com.
As a recovering addict, Riche Supa has openly endorsed and advocated for In the Rooms, since its inception. If you are interested in hearing the In the Rooms song, it can be streamed live on any of the pages by clicking on the song’s play button on the top left side just above the In the Rooms logo. Also, to find out more about Richie Supa, check out his profile “richiesupa.”
Just to let you guys know, we fixed some bugs in the chatroom, and the “noflood” issue that was kicking people out for typing too fast.
In the coming weeks, we’re adding a button on people’s profiles where you can invite people who are online to meet you in the chatroom.
Thanks,
The InTheRooms Team

Hi Guys,
We’ve added a few new features this week to InTheRooms. The first is our chatroom - you can access it by clicking “Chat” in the menubar. In the chatroom, there is General Chat, and also private / instant messaging. To send someone an Instant Message, click on their name on the right, and click “Private Message”. You can also create your own private chat rooms by typing “/join whatever”, and just replace ‘whatever’ with the name of your room.
In the past few weeks we noticed that a lot of members have been sharing links to videos on YouTube and the like in the discussions. We added a feature that allows members to embed videos from over 150 video websites. Just go to create a new discussion, and paste the link to the video page into the field that says “Embed a video”.
