RECOVERY RAFFLE to support Joy’s House!

Hello,

My name is Charlie Griffith, and I am the editor of It’s all in the JOURNEY; the only magazine written by, for & about the recovery community. Not just the professionals serving it, but the whole community. It’s all in the JOURNEY is distributed free of charge to every AA/NA clubhouse, detox center & treatment center in Florida and California. And we have also started sending them to select AA/NA clubhouses in Atlanta, Chicago and Houston.

I am also the owner of Joy’s House; a sober house for women I opened in my daughter’s memory. I lost Joy in 1985, after she spent nine months in a vegetative state, caused when she was accidently strangled in the footrest of her grandfather’s recliner chair at the age of 3.

I spent the next 20 years in & out of prison, and always in addiction, until finally giving up, getting a sponsor, and working the 12 steps. May 17th will be 3 years clean & sober.

Joy is the inspiration behind It’s all in the JOURNEY, and now Joy’s House That’s her sitting in the ‘O’ of JOURNEY on the cover of every issue of our magazine. If you didn’t notice her before, that’s O.K.; with our incredible covers done by Grammy winning artist Jim Warren (who won his Grammy award for the cover he created for Bob Segar’s ‘Against the Wind’ album), I know it’s hard to take your eyes off them. Now you don’t have to. Jim Warren is donating the original, signed & framed, painting of ‘Survivor’ used on the latest cover of JOURNEY (isue # 11) to help support Joy’s House & It’s all in the JOURNEY!

The painting, worth $25,000, will be given to the winner of our Recovery Raffle; a raffle being held by FOR THE LOVE OF JOY,Inc. - a Fla. non profit I created to support people in early recovery & sober houses.

Tickets are only $25 each, and only 2500 will be sold. Please visit the event’s website at: www.joyshouse.eventbrite.com and buy a few tickets today - it would make one heck of a Christmas gift!

You can also get there, plus see all of the past issues of JOURNEY, by going to JOURNEY’S website and clicking on the RECOVERY RAFFLE link on the top left side of our homepage at:www.itsallinthejourney.com.

To see Joy’s House, please go to: www.joyshouse.info. Thank you all for your support of It’s all in the JOURNEY magazine, and thank you for supporting Joy’s House.

Peace,
Charlie G.

It’s All In The Journey

The goal of “It’s All In The Journey” is to show someone still suffering how we did it. To teach, inform, and entertain our brothers and sisters in recovery. To let family members and the general public know that treatement or addiction is possible and available to everyone. And that it works if you work it!

Our Mission: The 12th step of the 12-step fellowship says, “…having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we try to carry this message to another alcholoic or addict.”
